Hamilton Design Associates

When I saw a tasty post filled with bold pattern and vibrant color on Gorgeous Shiny Things, I wasn't at all surprised to learn they were designed by Ellen Hamilton of Hamilton Design Associates. (She was, after all, the mastermind behind this marvelous bedroom.) Her portfolio is full of bold, colorful design, but also these dreamy seaside escapes too. That kitchen!!! Oh my word. Excuse me while I stare off into these images....it's snowing here....again. Ugh!!!

The Dunes And The Duchess

Don't you guys love showhouses?? They're always so fun, filled with inspiration. This particular library designed by Patricia LaPierre of Greenwich Design Architects was in the Shippan Designer Showhouse. The space was styled by Stacy Kunstel and photographed by Michael Partenio. The talented duo actually started their own company last fall called Dunes and Duchess. They create the most amazing, giant candelabras and lamps in the coolest colors. (You can see more here...love all those photos!) If you happen to be going to the NYIGF next week, stop by and check out some of their new stuff. (And say hi to them for me for me!) Ooh and Stacy is one of the speakers at the Design Bloggers Conference! I am getting so excited for that!

Campagne Decoration

Ladies, your tea is ready!! I thought since you guys loved that French home so much that I shared a couple ago, you might appreciate this one too. Gracing the cover of this month's Campagne Décoration (Country Decoration), the darling space is made for delectable treats, pleasant conversation and a little bit of sunshine. What a magnifique way to spend an afternoon!

Incredible Wooden Bathtub

Have any of you ever seen a wooden bathtub before?! I didn't even know they existed! Inspired by the comfort of an antique armchair and the sweeping sheer of a sailboat, Bath in Wood of Maine has been crafting wooden bathtubs for three years. This particular double bathtub featured in Design New England is made from a deep-sealed Honduran mahogany. Imagine how long the water would stay warm in that! (And what fun kids would have pretending it was a boat!) Oh, and the bead-board wainscoting is painted Benjamin Moore's Silver Marlin. How could I forget! To learn more about these unique wooden tubs, head over here!

Country Decor

You just don't see stuff like this here in the States. Straight out of France, this home featured in Campagne Décoration is storybook beautiful. I can't even imagine eating dinner at that dining table, surrounded by the aqua-painted eighteenth century woodwork. Don't even get me started on a soak in that tub! And that armoire is killing me! See more of this glorious home right over here!

Turquoise And Pink Girl Room

If anyone can prove that good design doesn't always have to cost a fortune, it's the talented Judy of DIY by Design. She recently revealed the transformation of her ten year-old daughter's room, who requested her space have aqua in it. Judy chose Benjamin Moore Whispering Spring for three of the walls, and stenciled the pink wall all by herself! Amazing! In fact, so much of what you see Judy made by herself, in addition to a few great finds from Home Goods, Target or PB Kids. You have to head over to her blog for more images and to read all about this dreamy space!

What A Lie!

Don't look at me!
I'm horrible.

I did not notice this rather sizely error.
You can thank BOB, however.
BOB noticed that sims can walk through the door screen.

It apparently is a magic screen.
It should not be however.
Doug Henning had nothing to do with its creation.

A tiny oversight in the coding.
Should be corrected . . . now.

You can download the corrected screen
but only the package file will overwrite the original.
If you use Sim3Pack you'll need to uninstall and reinstall.

My apologies folks.
I sent this set out for testing by numerous people
and no one caught this rather large oversight.
Naughty testers. Spankings will be emailed . . . now.

EDIT:
Well, it seems some do not exactly dislike and further
actually prefer the screen with the 'mistake' as it acts like a curtain.
Please feel free to leave some comments.
I may need to post a second version of the door screen that sims CAN walk through
for those who prefer it.
